Asser Hamza

Asser Hamza has been practicing law since 1987. He is the leading legal expert in the Egyptian market for advising consumer goods and retail clients, having advised Carrefour, Fromagerie Bel and Decathlon over the past 20 years. Asser has a deep bench of experience in employment and labour matters, as well as public and private law disputes.

Prior to founding Hamza & Partners Law Firm, Asser worked with several prestigious international and Egyptian law firms including Massoud & Massoud in New York, Ali Nour El-Din Law Firm in Cairo and Zaki Hashem Law Firm in Cairo.

Asser also lectures on Commercial Law in the French section at the Faculty of Business of Ain Shams University, and since 2005 has served as a part-time professor at the French University in Egypt (UFE) where he teaches labour law. Asser is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Business Law Alumni Association.

    • Advising and representing Carrefour Egypt on all matters including employment, disputes, and day-to-day corporate since 2002, when Carrefour first entered the Egyptian market.

    • Advising and representing Fromagerie Bel on all employment matters and disputes since 2008.

    • Advising and representing Air France-KLM Egypt on all employment matters and disputes over the past seven years.

    • Acted as the sole legal counsel to the Embassy of France in Egypt from 2006 to 2007.

    • Advising and representing Accor on its operations in Egypt since 2010.

    • Successfully represented PGS, a Free Zone company in the oil & gas sector on a dispute before CRCICA against a major multinational petroleum company.

    • Advised multiple NGOs including Terres des Hommes, Save the Children and ASEM on employment and day-to-day corporate matters.
